The Badlands of Alberta

We recently spent some more time in Drumheller, Alberta. As usual, the short trip out to see the hoodoos was a top priority. This time I actually climbed all the way to the top. The hoodoos appear as a tiny speck close to the center of the photo from the top. Although much more tiring, going up is actually easier than going back down. I tried capturing the hoodoos with a shallow depth of field this time for something a bit different. Truth be told, I made the background more out of focus in post processing on the first shot.

If you enjoy my photographs please consider making a purchase. All of the proceeds from the sale will go directly to help support our friends volunteering at the Seed of Hope in South Africa which is a great organization really making a difference in the community. Every little bit makes a difference, even a small digital download for your desktop!

  1. Gosh, its been a while since I visited photogenic Drumheller. Long before the digital revolution for sure. I remember my wife and I struggling in the wind at a viewpoint with out 4X5 view cameras.
I liked your pictures of the fun location.
