One of my favorites! We have a ton of red wings and they are such a common bird but this photo makes me love them anyway. I do hate it when they dive bomb me if I get too close to a nest. 🙂
Yeah I still enjoy photographing them and the yellow-headed blackbirds even though I see them all the time. I’ve never been dive bombed by them though, only the terns have done that.
I have never seen the yellow headed ones before. Might be too far south? Which would be kind of ironic seeing as its -2 here today (Green Bay, WI)
Perhaps, I’m not sure what their range is. They are less common than the red-wings even here.
