Hooded Oriole in Mexico

For my final entry of photos from our trip to Mexico, I have for you today a hooded oriole. The colour on these birds was brilliant, we just don’t get to see birds this colourful at home. I was able to get nice and close to this guy as he was hopping around feeding from the flowers. He stood still just long enough for me to get the correct focus and a nice composition. I suspect action shots are what really sell, but I feel like this is the closest I’ve come to something that might be worthy of getting in a magazine such as (dare I say) National Geographic.

Hooded Oriole
Camera: Canon EOS 60D, Exposure Time: 1/640, Aperture: f/5.6, ISO: 1000, Focal Length: 400mm

If you enjoy my photographs please consider making a purchase. All of the proceeds from the sale will go directly to help support our friends volunteering at the Seed of Hope in South Africa which is a great organization really making a difference in the community. Every little bit makes a difference, even a small digital download for your desktop!
