Camouflage in Nature

I always enjoyed seeing photos in nature magazines of the way different animals were naturally camouflaged in their surroundings. More often than not, they were pictures of different insects. I think it’s somewhat rare to see a bird in this situation. I spotted this dove in the Palm Springs airport sleeping amongst rocks that were almost exactly the same colour as the bird itself. Hundreds of people would have walked by in relatively close proximity; I wonder how many actually saw it.

CamouflagedCamera: Canon EOS REBEL T1i, Exposure Time: 1/30, Aperture: f/18, ISO: 100, Focal Length: 400mm

If you enjoy my photographs please consider making a purchase. All of the proceeds from the sale will go directly to help support our friends volunteering at the Seed of Hope in South Africa which is a great organization really making a difference in the community. Every little bit makes a difference, even a small digital download for your desktop!
